Marketing & Donor Relations Internship

Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, Inc. is seeking a passionate and motivated Marketing & Donor Relations Intern to support our mission of serving and equipping vulnerable children and youth. This hands-on internship is ideal for a marketing, communications, or public relations major looking to gain real-world experience in nonprofit marketing, social media management, and donor relations.

Who We’re Looking For:

We need an enthusiastic, outgoing, and organized self-starter who is comfortable engaging with businesses, managing social media, and helping with fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate is someone who:

·         Is passionate about nonprofit work and community engagement

·         Has strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Is comfortable with social media platforms and marketing tools

·         Can work independently and as part of a team

·         Is confident in approaching businesses for sponsorships and donations

 

Job Responsibilities:

50% Marketing & Social Media (Office-Based)

·         Create and schedule engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

·         Assist in designing marketing materials, flyers, and email campaigns

·         Help develop content for newsletters and donor updates

·         Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments/messages

·         Maintain brand consistency and promote fundraising initiatives

50% Donor Relations & Fundraising (Community-Based)

·         Solicit local businesses for sponsorships and donated auction items for our August fundraiser

·         Assist with donor mail-outs, thank-you letters, and acknowledgments

·         Support planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events

·         Research potential donors and partnership opportunities

·         Represent Southern Christian Services at community events and networking opportunities

Additional Duties:

·         Provide general administrative support as needed

·         Assist with event logistics and setup

·         Other duties as assigned to support the team

 

Internship Details:

Dates: May – August

Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

Compensation: Minimum wage (Mississippi)

Location: Jackson, Mississippi (Office + Community Outreach)
