Meet Alexandra Phillips! Alexandra is the Family Specialist for our Therapeutic Foster Care Program in Jackson. She is originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama but has lived in the Jackson Metro area since August of 2020. Alexandra graduated from the University of Alabama with her Master’s in Social Work.
As a Family Specialist, Alexandra gets the opportunity to recruit and train foster parents, assist in placing foster children in homes where their needs will be met, and then follow the foster family and foster children through to the end of their journey. Alexandra states, “Every child deserves a safe and loving home where they can be completely and comfortably themselves, and I feel so blessed to have a small part in creating that environment.”
When Alexandra is not at work, you will most likely fine her curled up on a couch, under a cozy blanket, with a good book and her sweet dog. She loves spending time with her niece and nephew (with another nephew on the way). Alexandra states, “They are my favorite people on this earth, so I travel back to Tuscaloosa pretty frequently to spend as much time as possible with them!” She loves kayaking, hiking, camping, and exploring new places.
Alexandra’s favorite quote is, “You are imperfect, you are wired to struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.” -Brene Brown
