22nd Annual Lookin' to the

Future Conference

"RIDING THE WINDS OF CHANGE"

The Lookin' to the Future Conference is an annual training event coordinated by Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, Inc. We are pleased to announce the 22nd anniversary of this event. The conference will be held July 14-16, 2010 at the Natchez Convention Center in Natchez, MS.

 

Through the use of workshops, plenary sessions, handouts and displays, the Lookin' to the Future Conference seeks to provide the most current information to social workers, counselors, therapists, teachers, foster and adoptive parents, mental health professionals, agency administrators and other persons who wish to broaden their knowledge base and enhance their skills in working with children, youth and families.  This year's conference offers several different tracks with the following areas of concentration:  Adoption and Foster Care, Permanency, Transitional Living Services, Independent Living, Clinical and Advanced Clinical Issues of Children, Youth, and Families, Health and Wellness, Personal/Professional/Spiritual Growth, Systems of Care, Substance Abuse and Educational fun filled activities for foster and adoptive children and youth.   

 

Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, Inc. is dedicated to providing the highest quality-training event for an affordable registration cost.  Professionals from both public and private agencies comprise the Lookin' to the Future Conference planning committee, which provides direction and oversight of conference activities.  The conference is funded through participating agency supporters, corporate supporters, purchase of advertising and display space, grants and registration fees. 

 

The Goals of the Lookin’ to the Future Conference are:

  • To raise awareness of the current issues affecting children, youth and families.
  • To provide professional education and best practices information.
  • To offer opportunities for networking among professionals and other individuals who work with and care for children and youth.
  • To enable conference participants to experience personal and professional growth.
