Abstinence Education Program

The JUST WAIT Program is a comprehensive statewide community based abstinence until marriage education program. This program focuses on educating and influencing behaviors of adolescents ages 10-20 in the Mississippi Foster Care System as well as foster parents and key stakeholders in the community. This program includes pre and post tests, abstinence and healthy relationship education, and mentoring to foster youth.

The Just Wait program is administered through the SCSCY’s Independent Living Program, Therapeutic Group Homes, Adoption and Foster Care Programs, community outreach activities, and other residential child caring facilities.
